It was late in the afternoon. Snuffles the bandicoot had woken early from his sleep in a grassy nest by the Pebble Patch. He usually slept in the day and stayed up all night. But Snuffles remembered he had something to do. Now what was it?

Snuffles thought that something to eat might help him to remember. He bounded along, snuffling and scratching the ground. He searched for a juicy insect, or a tender plant root, snuffling and sneezing, scratching and scraping as he went.

Suddenly, Snuffles remembered that he wanted to see what was at the top of the big rock. He stopped digging and began to climb. He carefully stepped over a log and continued to climb higher and higher.

Soon Snuffles was sitting on the very top of the tall rock. He was pleased that he had remembered what he wanted to do. It was very exciting sitting up so high, and Snuffles could see a long way out over Secret Gully.
